I am Rita, a professional apparel graphic designer by trade, who is now staying at home with my 5 and 2 year old sons. I love to try new recipes, and I realized after blabbing to all my friends and family about all the great recipes I was creating, that a blog would be a great creative release.
I've always loved to cook, and being in my mom's kitchen cooking with her brings all sorts of warm fuzzies. My mom gave me a lot of independence in the kitchen at a young age. At 14, when all my friends could get their first summer jobs and I was still too young, she gave me the job of menu planning and cooking all the meals for the week nights. I wrote the grocery list, and she took me shopping. It was my first solo act, and it gave me great confidence.
Fast forward to today and now my husband is a willing taste tester, biggest motivator, and the IT department of this blog. Thanks honey! My son loves to help run "the mixer" and while he is the pickiest of our trio, I love seeing his interest in food grow.
I've also tried to expand our groceries while keeping it under budget, try new recipes, and keep our family eating healthfully. Check out how I do it in How to Save Money on Groceries.
Check out my friend Stacey's Web Design School site. She is doing an SEO competition for school. Please like her Facebook page, Google+ page, or post a link to her site. Thanks!
